The South Whatcom Library opened in April 2014 after a 3 year fundraising effort and remodel of an old horse barn in the Sudden Valley recreation corridor. This project was accomplished by the Friends of the Sudden Valley Library’s many volunteers, donors and grantors.
The Whatcom County Library System (WCLS) will deliver a full range of library services to the South Whatcom area. Visit the Whatcom County Library website or call 360-305-3500.
While the Sudden Valley Community Association continues to assess the stability of the upper barn, the South Whatcom Library is providing limited services during regular library hours in the coffee shop area of the Community Center. Patrons may pick up holds and browse a limited collection of materials. For up-to-date info on the library closure go to http://www.wcls.org/
Tuesday and Wednesday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursday and Friday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
After completing this major project, the Friends transition to a supporting role by providing funding for children, teen and adult programming, as well as other areas of sponsorship for this vital community service.
